When I wasn't photographing tween girls and non-binary kids in January for my Who I Am Project, I spent the rest of the month putting more recent work up on my website.
Of course you could navigate to all this through the www.bostonbabyphotos.com website, but I thought I'd highlight the sections here as well, for fun.
I didn't design anything new for the tween empowerment Who I Am Project website, since it's got nice recent work up there already.
OK, so then in terms of kinds of photoshoots... where to start, where to start?
Let's start at the beginning: Maternity photos
I've found over many years of doing photos with expecting mamas that doing them as Maternity Minishoots makes them just fantastic - they're quick, fun and they document that gorgeous belly. I love doing them at families' homes.
Lots more information is here:
And then of course, the precious, perfect, wonderful newborn session at home.
And then a popular option is to have me come back for two more sessions in a baby's first year and get a coffeetable album made at the end of the year.
I call this my "Baby's First Year" package and not to overstate it (ha!) but I truly do believe it's absolutely the best thing ever.
Now, some people come to me and say:
"Jess... we just want to do one little precious, perfect photoshoot in our baby's first year. It's not in our budget to have you come multiple times this year, but we would love to have one wonderful session this year. WHEN should we do it?"
And to this I answer, Oh yes! Let's do one Messy Minishoot at your home - you really won't regret it.
And of course I don't want to forget my standard sessions - the ones where we play and have fun at home or on location with the whole family, no matter what the age of your kids.
These I'm calling "Lifestyle Sessions" on my website now, but those are just my regular photoshoots where I meet you at home or at your favorite playground or beach or wherever.
You didn't think I'd forget the spring and fall minishoots, did you? Oh, don't worry!
I could never forget my Public Garden Minishoots, you know I adore them! They're for families whose children are all over a year, and they're quick and fabulous.
Before I zip too quickly away from the Lifestyle Sessions + Public Garden Minishoots, I should spend a bit of time highlighting my Annual Plan.
My Annual Plan is the lovely way to ensure you have a spring and a fall session each calendar year, with coffeetable albums designed for you every year as your children grow.
Enrolling in the Annual Plan also a wonderful way to keep the JPG prices lower, since families enrolled in either of my Annual Plans can buy their JPGs after their session at a heavily discounted rate.
And we're getting older here, as we make our way through all of my sessions... now we're on to that gorgeous stage of life: senior year.
I adore taking Senior Photos for so many of my Boston babies! Since I've been in business as long as I have, they're becoming a very popular kind of session.
And last, but most certainly not least, I've recently been taking the time to honor mamas. Because mama power often drives a lot of things!
Honoring who she is as a person, not just who she is as a mom... that's everything. My Mom Empowerment sessions each April and May are really fun.
And because I always think it's nice to summarize things, I made a very simple pricing guide for 2022 to outline the costs of different kinds of photoshoots all in one place.
Thanks for skimming through! I hope you've enjoyed this little overview, and I hope you'll be in touch soon for a photoshoot.
I'd love to meet you.
My calendar is here if you're ready to think about scheduling a time.
I'm Jessica McDaniel, and May 2021 will mark my 18th anniversary photographing babies and their families all around Boston.
