You know what matters, guys?
Representation matters.
I know you've heard it before, but I'm here to say it louder, and again.
And I want to invite you to make a difference, right now, today. This month I'm asking you guys to join me in a challenge. I'll tell you more about it below.
Because representation matters.
In this day and age, more than ever, we need to teach our children about diversity. Representation really does matter.
And I met someone last week who's made it her company's WHOLE mission to spread diversity awareness and encourage our children to embrace themselves inside and out.
I'd like to introduce you to this extraordinary person. She goes by Angel Lee on social media, and she's also known as Widline. She's the owner of Fusion Dolls.
She started her company, Fusion Dolls, with the mission to promote diversity and self love.
Widline is a social worker who believes in the importance of play and promoting self love at an early age.
And you know what?
LOOK at these dolls. They're gorgeous! They do just that.
From left to right, in the top row, I'd like to introduce you to Adalaida, Maliaka and Kinara.
In the bottom row, we have Hailey and Angel.
They're really sturdy, beautifully built dolls. Their hair is super soft, and you can really play with it and have fun with it.
They retail for $50-$70 each.
Widline's niece came for our photoshoot and proved it to us.
Yup. Kiddo approved.
I want to join this movement.
I want to help get Fusion Dolls into the hands of the kids that need them the most right here in Boston.
And I want to ask for your help to do that.
This is the June Challenge.
Last month, Widline and her brother were able to donate 15 Fusion Dolls to St Mary’s Center For Women and Children.
St Mary's is a family shelter in Dorchester that offers innovative and family-centered programs for women and children who have experienced trauma and are living in poverty.
Placing families at the center of their efforts, St. Mary’s Center works in partnership with young women, many of them mothers, to break the intergenerational cycle of poverty and achieve lasting, powerful change by building their emotional well-being, educational achievements, and economic independence.
Widline was able to donate dolls to St. Mary’s thanks to a generous donor who donated $500 dollars which allowed Fusion Dolls to donate fifteen of their amazing dolls to the kids over at St Mary’s.
But St. Mary's serves the needs of 200 children.
Widline brought 15 dolls with that $500 donation last month.
Let's work together to allow Widline to bring TONS more dolls to St. Mary's this month. And you know what, even if St. Mary's gets enough dolls for all the children who want one, Widline is a social worker and already has plans for other ways to get these dolls into the hands of Boston kids who need them most.
So here's what I want you to do.
1) Go to the Fusion Dolls website and place an order. To take part in the challenge, you'll spend $125 with Fusion Dolls, and you can do it one of two ways:
--> OPTION 1: Click here to order the "Buy One & Give One" $125 bundle (this one is the option if you have a kiddo at home who'd love one of these dolls). This option will mean Widline mails one doll to you and then is able to donate one doll to St. Mary's from you.
--> OPTION 2: Click here to order the "Give Two Beautiful Dolls!" $125 bundle. This option will mean Widline is able to donate two dolls to St. Mary's from you.
Then enter the promo code bostonbabyphotos when you're checking out so that you won't be charged shipping and also so that Widline will know to mark it down as doll donations that resulted from our BBP June Challenge. I'm not getting a referral kickback on these or anything, I really just want to know how many dolls we as a team are able to donate, because that's really fun.
Then I'd love it if you'd pop me email and tell me you took part in the challenge - I'd love to hear from you!
Also because the more we, as a team, are able to donate, the more we can talk about this with people we know and really get a buzz going, you know?
And now, I'll end this with a quote from Angel herself...
"The world needs love now more than ever. With your help we will be able to reach more people and help more kids in the city of Boston."
