The very first thing I did when it started to look like it would be OK for me to leave my house and take photos outside again (from a safe distance, with a mask and gloves on) was to reach out to my favorite nursery schools.
Because we'd missed our school photo day in March!
So we did...
Social Distancing Outdoor Nursery School Photo Day
It was back on May 20th when we shot these photos. The world was just slightly loosening up, and this was the very first thing I organized. Now it's been nearly three weeks and these families have been sooo patient to wait for me to get their photos edited... but yippee! I'm ready to show them the photos.
Can you kind of GUESS how excited I was when this mama told me that in addition to her nursery schooler she and her wife also had a tiny new baby in the house? Squeeee!
NEW BABY PHOTOS! It had been two months that I hadn't photographed any babies, and I was so very excited to see these guys.
Honestly that shot of the bigger brother holding his new baby sibling? I am just out of my mind loving that shot... parents in it, but not in it? You know? That's my fave.
Of course we had to do his school photos, too...
Superhero cuteness!
It was just such a lovely day. I drove around to sixteen families' homes...
It's these faces, these kiddos I get to know over a couple of years as they spend time at this little nursery school... I just love seeing them. They put me in the best mood.
I was so excited to see this guy! He remembered me, I think (although I had a mask on and looked completely different to him, I'm sure)... but we got a chance to have fun walking around.
Families who had me photograph siblings and their nursery schooler got a handful more photos from me... because we had more subjects... but oh, the cuteness!
Sister flower smelling 🙂
Basically it was just a super amazing, wonderful day.
Smirks happened.
Snuggles happened.
Paint-covered hand covering cute little mouths and all...
Some people just needed to have a quick lie down in the midst of their photos...
And some people needed a mama snuggle.
All in all, I'm grateful to these sixteen families for being my first-ones-out-of-the-gate after my stay-home two + months. I adored getting the chance to see all these cute faces, and I hope to see many of you back at the nursery school next year!
