Post #5 in a 5 part series - Stories from my quarantine life... been posting little stories on my Instagram instead of blogging.

Enjoy! (Continued from last week's blog post...)

See? This is the time of year for flowers, not snow, k, Mother Nature?
Now that we got that out of the way... back to my #BBPwinfortheday

It’s fun to daydream about future animals we might incorporate into our lives... and if you, too, have considered it, I can’t recommend @yardbirdsbackyardchickens Chickens 101 zoom class enough! It was incredibly informative and I took copious notes over the 2 hours... I’m hoping to consider 🐓 🐓 🐓 sometime in the future... Are you chicken people? Would love to hear about your experiences in the comments...

I miss snuggling-with-grandma photos on this weird, weird Mother’s Day we’ve got here.

This year our Mother’s Day love includes the weekly delivery to Nana at her locked-down assisted living facility. Just the essentials, left in a labeled bag in their foyer for their staff to bring inside and deliver with our love. We know what’s important to Nana.
I am finding that these little things we can do for the people we love are making the everyday more bearable. You guys grocery shopping for your older family members? We add her favorites to our grocery delivery these days (not to mention the essentials added to the liquor store delivery 😜) — and I have to admit I do really appreciate feeling like I can do *something* for her — being locked down is so boring! I’ll take it as today’s #BBPwinfortheday 🥰

Last year vs. this year.
Sisters photographed... my clients’ vs. my own.

It’s been lovely having this uninterrupted time with mine, honestly. They’re really extraordinary kids when they stop hollering at each other for three minutes. With the Stay Home Advisory scheduled to end in a week, I’m spending my time getting my head around my new normal. My shooting outdoors, with a mask, from 6 ft away thing... it’s going to be interesting.
But a plan is coming together, and I’m in touch with my spring clients, making plans to meet them in their yards / outdoor spaces for social distancing photoshoots of all kinds. Pop me a DM if you want to think about options with me. I’d love the chance to tiptoe into these new waters with you and your family. Masked and socially distant, of course... #BBPwinfortheday

Outdoor baby sessions! Not my norm, but something I’m brainstorming about, guys. This guy had some jello with toys in it (what a fun mama!) out on his deck last spring... going to be thinking outside the box this year to make photoshoots safe for everybody.
But for now, it’s my very favorite slow cooked chicken with garlic and lemon. You slow roast the entire chicken on low heat for two hours before you bump up the heat and take the top off so you can crisp up the edges for like 30-45 more minutes... mmm. It’s so very good. Let me know if you want me to send you the recipe. My favorite line in the description refers to a “flavor-intensifyingly low heat”. 😋 #bbpwinfortheday

Gorgeous teenagers! I love them. Especially these two.

I am starting to see a future where I can do photoshoots outdoors from 6+ feet away, with a mask on... in families’ yards... the possibilities are opening up as I start to allow myself to think about getting back to work.

Luckily, smiles like this one keep me sane as I navigate these new waters. #BBPwinfortheday
Since outdoor photoshoots incorporating social distancing have been “allowed” all this time, I’m starting to roll out a plan for the way I’m going to do them for my clients - starting next week. More soon... message me if you’d like me to tell you more about it...

So that's Post #5 of 5, I think... as I tiptoe into the waters of beginning to shoot (outdoors only for now, with a mask, from 6+ feet away) I'll have less time to dedicate to this sweet #BBPwinfortheday project.

But I will try to post as much as I can using that hashtag in the future. It's always good to look for the wins.

Thanks for following along.
