Since I haven't been shooting photoshoots since March 24th when the Governor announced the Stay at Home Advisory, I started posting little stories on my Instagram instead of blogging.
Thought I'd share them here for a bit.
Enjoy!

Been struggling with the idea of posting business-as-usual family and baby pictures in my feed — it just felt wrong, but I’ve missed posting here on the regular. I’m going to attempt to do a little #thenandnow challenge to keep me creative and grateful for the little things each day. There’s a lot to worry about, but I’m going to try to identify something positive as my #BBPwinfortheday from now until our governor lets me go back into the world and do my thing. 📷
I miss smooshy babies so very, very much. But today, as my kids and I mail off the weekend’s worth of masks to our extended family all over the country I’m grateful for the fact that my great-grandmother’s sewing machine is not only a gorgeous piece of furniture but also still works like an absolute charm. 🧵
Also grateful for friends like @lusterity founder Sierra who remotely fixed said machine yesterday over FaceTime when the tension was all messed up. (Off topic, lemme know if you want a super easy mask tutorial and I’ll send you the link to the one Sierra and her team made. Really easy and sewing is *not* my area of expertise.)

I have a truly terrible memory. I wonder sometimes if that’s why I became a photographer, because capturing those times in life as they happen has always been really important to me, since looking back at the photos is often what triggers me to remember things we’ve done. Taking photos with grandparents is something I just really adore and miss right now so very much.
Not only that, but I miss my own mom and dad so much. The Easter egg hunt we did with my mom over zoom on Sunday really did warm my heart though. The five grandkids had eggs hidden around their homes/yards and my mom had the list of clues, so they all had to keep coming back to the zoom session to have her help them find their candy. Nothing like real hangout time with Mimi, but at this point we’ll take it. #BBPwinfortheday

I really miss going to clients’ homes and doing my photoshoots - letting the kids do their thing, make me laugh, hug their mamas... and not having this be part of my every day means my life feels sadder than it used to.
But we’re healthy and lucky, and I’ve been doing little one on one FaceTime iPhone tutorials with clients, so those have been keeping my creative juices flowing. I get so excited when my “student” sends their assignment photos over and we start working together to play with editing their photos on our phones. I truly agree that best camera is the camera you have with you, so helping parents use all the fun iPhone features they carry around in their pockets has been really creatively fun for me. #BBPwinfortheday
