We're dialing it back a full decade for Throwback Halloween today. Welcome to my backyard, circa 2008. I had one three year-old little girl and I’d been a baby photographer for five years. I adored Halloween and everything surrounding the cuteness of the kiddos in costume, so I invited everyone I could think of who had children around my kids’ ages and told them to come to my yard a few days before halloween if they wanted some photos of their kiddos in costume. Then in 2009 we did it again - complete with the addition of my little six month-old cow that year. Then in 2010 we did it again. So grab some candy corn and join me as we do some time travel into the cuteness archives.
Throwback Halloween
2008
OK, so where better to start than with a firefighter and a construction worker who are now teenagers, a vampire who’s a freshman in high school and a little fuzzy bear of some sort who’s pretty much middle schooling sooner than later… goodness they were cute!!
OK, no need to belabor the fact that all these kids are now older… let’s just enjoy their costumes. Peace out, man! And the fact that my little construction worker decided she had to borrow a neighbor’s costume about halfway through? (She started out as a turtle — see below)
Behold, the turtle. And this squid was homemade!! OMG!
If memory serves, guys, I think Nemo was homemade too. WHhhhaaa??
Firefighter is setting off all the cuteness alarms here.
We start 2009 here...
These Buckingham Palace guards were also homemade costumes, I believe. Cheerio!
Was that Miley Cyrus, maybe, in the top left? My vet checking out my little cow, natch. And our neighbor (the same one who rocked the Nemo and Squid costumes in 2008) didn’t disappoint with her Chrysler Building here...
Zoodorable.
I just can't get over how little and adorable they all were...
...and how they were all in costume and fully in character, too!
2010 starts here.
OK, so this Supergirl and this Batgirl just about kill you with their cuteness, right? Yup. Mine.
Smiles and costumes and no one even asked where the candy was, haha.
I love remembering what each child was really into each year when I see the costumes...
...and I love remembering these smiles.
Blimey! A pirate and a land shark in me backyard, matey!
I hope you've enjoyed a little time travel with me, and maybe this inspired you to capture a few moments in daylight with your own costumed cuteness. Have a safe and a happy Halloween!
