I walked in the door and loved them immediately.  It’s rare that I meet a family for the first time when they’re older – often we start young and continue years and years and years… so when this mama emailed me in November with a completely hilarious message about how she was a surgeon working crazy hours and sure we could never get pictures done in time for the holidays, saying she was sure she was crazy to ever think she could get into my schedule when she only first reached out in mid-November… I felt like it was a challenge.

It was kismet – I’d gotten an email of a cancellation for that very next weekend just an hour or two before, and the message made me belly laugh when I got it – I had to meet them. And then, of course, when I walked in the door – I adored them immediately.  I felt like they were one of my beloved returning families I’d known forever.  They were fabulous, awesome – and the mama was sheepish about the all-red outfits.  But you know what? So what! It looked festive as all get-out. How often do you get to dress your kids up and make them all look alike? They grow up so fast – may as well do this stuff while we can, right?

So here I am again, showing you photos on the blog in color.  You guys have heard it before – I love b&w, and especially when it comes to indoor pictures, I really think b&w looks gorgeous and perfect and gentle and I love the way the light is… but then these guys dress all in red and I just have to blog them in color.  Because, come on now. Check them out.

Right? Adorbs.

These 3 adorable munchkins in red are my niece and nephews! You must be a miracle worker Jessica, because somehow you got them all to smile at the same time, and you captured their unique personalities in the photos. I live in another country but it's great to see the kids captured in such sweet moments together. Thanks for sharing your work and talents on this blog! PJM

Jessica - how did you do it? I had the misfortune of moving away from this awesome family four years ago, and looking at these pictures I get the full intensity of their incredible, unique personalities gifted to me long distance. Now I'm all verklempt. In a really good way.
