Boston MA Newborn Session with baby D — it’s a new year!

This sweet girl arrived at the end of 2016, but I got to meet her just last week for her newborn photos. I can’t wait to go back for her six month and one year shots – what a treat. Yay for the Baby’s First Year package :)

I have to say I think my favorite photo is this last fussy girl/smiling grandparents one. Who better understands that a fuss is just a fuss than grandma and grandpa?

I adored meeting you guys, what a great way to start 2017!

Grandpa and swiiiinnnnnngs

I spend a lot of time with families that I know really well – and I adore that. I’m so lucky to be invited back to families’ homes year after year, and to watch their kiddos get bigger and taller every year.  So it’s actually a rare fun treat for me to arrive at a new family’s home and get to meet entirely new kids and parents.  And sometimes we get a bonus granddad who’s willing to run around chasing kids in the backyard, too. Because what’s better than that?

Adventures with a cutie

He was born 6 weeks early, but as his mama put it: in these last nine months he’s been making up for lost time! He loves his yummy soft foods (how perfect are those light eyes caught by the light coming in the window?)  And the one where his parents are blowing in his face to get him to laugh? I love his expression :) I think the one where his mama is kissing his cheek might be my favorite, though.

What a fun photoshoot – thanks so much for inviting me out!

The house where it all began

Back in the mid 70s a young couple bought this house – and I wonder if they ever imagined that more 30 years later, they’d stand out front with their handsome progeny all assembled like this:

With just their grandchildren:

Kiddos alone:

I bet they knew, even back then, that the back yard would be perfect for summer playtime:

The first brave sprinkler jumper-inner, after a good soaking:

With sprinkler help from mom:

And dad:

Exploring with Uncle M:

Hand washing in the hose:

It was so fun to see you guys!

Everybody’s in town, let’s capture it!

Once upon a time, many years ago, two parents had two (what I’m sure were) fantastic little boys.  Then those boys grew up and married two fabulous women.  And then, would you believe it, those two original parents got grandchildren out of the deal! Everybody was together last week and we met up for a walk at Elm Bank in Wellesley.

Sometimes we have an escapee when we try to pose pictures… but that’s OK ;)

Aren’t they a handsome crew?

Balancing act with grandparent support:

And cousins helping each other with the stick:

Cousin squeezes:

I have to smile when I look at this picture.

And A is going to have a little brother or sister soon…

And then the heat got to be too much for us – Dad had to work some water bottle magic:

And last but not least, a wet grandma hug :)

Grandma and Papa were in town

So these two fabulous sisters live here in Boston and Rhode Island, respectively.  And their parents don’t.  So when Grandma and Papa came to town, they stayed in a nice hotel downtown – so we met there last Saturday morning and got loads of fantastic pictures.

Here’s the whole crew, running down Boylston Street.  Kind of amazing in a picture like this when all the faces are smiling – love it.

Then we settled on a bench on the Commonwealth Mall – I love the interactions in this picture, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents.

One fantastic sister and her family:

And the other fantastic sister and her family:

And then we spent some time on grandparent pictures – these melt my heart.

And I love this one of the sisters and their kiddos:

And the grandparents and their crazy grandchildren:

Such fun to see you guys again!

We had so much fun, and the pictures turned out even better than I imagined! Thanks for such wonderful pics!

Allison - May 15, 2012 - 9:52 am

What a beautiful family!

Tara - May 15, 2012 - 11:39 am

These are beautiful! You are going to be so happy one day that you took the time to do this. Um, is there another cousin coming!?!

The whole crew together for Thanksgiving

Sometimes it’s grandmothers who call me to book photoshoots, and often times those shoots happen around the holidays, when their families are together.  It’s always mayhem, and I can almost guarantee someone will cry… but that’s what it’s all about, right? Capturing the insanity? Because why have two handsome sons if you can’t document a piece of the crazy lives they’re living with their 7, 4, 4 and 2 yr old kiddos?

So I’ll get you situated with the big group shot first.  Here’s our handsome crew.

And one of all the grandkids with their grandparents:

And now, so you don’t get confused, I’ll go big brother’s family first:

And then I’ll do little brother’s family next:

And I have to include this “outtake” one — it cracks me up — with bow off kilter and tongue out :)

All thanks to these two.  Celebrating a big anniversary this year!  Congrats, guys.

P.S. These kind of shoots are what I call “a bunch of families together” in my pricing calculator, in case you’re curious. They can run a bit longer than my usual 45 minutes-1 hour.  I think I stayed with these guys for about 90 minutes.  But it’s nice because each individual family in the group ends up with photos for holiday cards, etc.

The first of the next generation

Over Thanksgiving weekend, this sweet 4 1/2 month old guy had a huge crowd around – lucky guy. But first he got to get some pictures with just his mom and dad:

With mom and dad:

And with his grandparents:

And the whole team:

Wonderful to see you guys!  It’s exhausting being the star of the show.

Speedy little dude

So for those of you who know this guy, you might have a sense of just how FAST this whole photoshoot was.  His energy is fantastic and amazing, and he’s one lucky dude to have parents and grandparents who can keep up with him :)  You know what, though? I love this one best, when he left the more staged setup on the chaise and came and sat down in the front.  Awesome.

We had a couple of quiet moment before he zipped away…

And then off he went.

Quickest hug ever:

Love the energy in this one:

So fun to get to know you guys! Thanks for having me :)

Two handsome, energetic little dudes

OK, before I show you all the adorable pictures of these two guys, I had to start with the most awesome mom shot. If this doesn’t tell the story of a mom of two boys under three, I don’t know what does :)

Now back to these two handsome boys:

Grandpa stopped by so we could make sure we got a three generations shot:

And my dad made the connection with this family for me, so I had to post this one in his honor.  I know he wishes his granddaughters took the same interest in golf as this little guy.

Wonderful to meet you guys!

Deb Murphy - November 14, 2011 - 1:49 pm

You really connected with the kids. Thank you for capturing so very special moments! We had a blast.

Fall Public Garden Mini-shoot #10

I have one word for these two ladies.  OK, two:

My. Muses.

I haven’t seen them since they were nine months old, and I almost didn’t recognize them when I met up with them on the mini-shoot day.  This one is my hands-down favorite.

Every moment of their session made me so happy.  I loved meeting their grandparents…

The striped socks.

Their slightly mussed hair.

Their eyelashes.

Their expressions.

How very different (and yet similar) they are…

And the way they grasped hands when they got together for pictures. It just gave me chills.

Loved loved LOVED seeing you guys. So glad we got you a spot!

Adele Beekman - October 20, 2011 - 1:25 pm

They look so cute! I bet they’d look even cuter in matching Halloween costumes like two peas in a pod or a loving set of parents who let them play spider ring toss at the office party.

Christina Lip - October 20, 2011 - 1:44 pm

Wow! look at these two photogentic stars! How adorable! I just love all these photos. Especially the last one, where they are hand in hand, that just makes my heart melt.

Cheri - October 20, 2011 - 4:00 pm

Hmmmm, it is amazing what a good photographer can do to mask the chaos that lurks within. Oh wait, I’m talking about my child, who remains unphotographed. Do the photos help with the masking? If so, sign us up!

Just beautiful! Like their Mom :)

Our 8th shoot!

I started taking pictures of these two back in 2005, when L was three years old and W was one.  And now here we are, on shoot #8 – with a gorgeous 9 year old girl and a handsome 7 year old boy.  Time FLIES.

Dreamy, perfect Posey-McPoserton shot. Well done, everybody, including Gandalf ;)

The lovely Miss, with her festive pumpkin:

Toothless wonder – doesn’t this one look like an ad for a dentist? I’d totally go to this dentist if he promised I’d get to have toothless boys as awesome as W.

Gandalf love.

Got to include some fun grandparents this time :)

Da boyz.

Da ladeez.

Plumb tuckered out.  Modeling is exhausting!

Loved seeing you guys, as always.

Such a classic Boston one year old photo shoot

I love shoots like this one! We got to go walking around the North End and grabbed so many classic Boston shots in the process. Without looking at the tags at the bottom of the post, how many Boston landmarks can you spot?

Oh wait, but first, let me introduce you to our little birthday boy star of the show.  Mr. C – with his raised eyebrow here, enjoying a puff snack before we headed out:

Look at those big steps :)

Mama tickles:

Look who’s walking:

And after our walk, we came home to a Grandpa…

and Grandma visit!

Look who’s UNO!  Happy birthday, sweet boy :)  So honored to document the actual day.

You look like movie stars filming in Boston! Great shots! XO, Mln

This little guy’s now the big brother

Welcome to little 9 day old M!  Saw him a few weeks ago in mama’s belly (just like we did with big brother T a couple of years ago), but he’s way more adorable out here in the world… (and apparently he likes having his toes tickled)

Isn’t he a love?

Just a gentle nose poke…

Brother toes :)

Mama’s never in pictures because she’s always holding the camera.  We tried to remedy that!

This is one of my favorites:

And of course a visiting grandparents pic…

Congrats to you guys on your perfect new addition.  Good luck down south, we’ll all miss you here in Boston!  Visit lots :)
