Jamaica Plain MA Kids & Dog Photographer – just add yoga ball

I’ve been taking photos of this fantastic boy since he was tiny – I think maybe these pictures we took when he was sixteen months old were the first time?

He and his pup Dixie are peas in a pod, absolutely.

These photos are from our session last fall and R’s mama has been perhaps the most patient person in the world waiting for the blog post. The crazy holiday season often means I am focused on getting everyone’s galleries posted and not taking the time to blog as much. But I’m trying to get better about blogging more regularly in 2017 – so I’ll post more soon, I promise!

Look at the fun these guys have together. They give me such joy every time.

And really, what’s better than an October day when the sun is shining and you can take the yoga ball outside and have your mom clock you on the head with it? ;) hehe just kidding. Good times were had by all. No tears were shed. Honest.

As always, I love seeing you guys. Thanks for having me back!

Public Garden Mini-shoot #8: Goofball-a-rific

I have been taking pictures of these two for years and years – I met them back when M was in her mama’s tummy, actually.  In fact, I swore I’d seen an expression like I captured the other day before… and then I remembered.  M’s been making this face for a while.  See what I mean in the screenshot from my website’s homepage – they’re featured, five years ago :)

I love these guys, and I (as always) can’t believe they’re getting so big!

8 years in… still perfecto

I just looked it up and realized this is my 8th year shooting L&W – I started when L was three and W was one.  Now look at them! L is climbing trees and channeling Katniss (she’s read the whole series three times) and W is sporting the adult teeth (but still able to be scooped up by Dad, luckily).  The one on the swing with both of them peeking through their swinging feet is so cool.

Just adored seeing you guys as always. :)

Sisters, and a pop of color

So I know, I know, I market my whole business around black and white photography.  I love it the most – I love the way it lets children’s personalities shine…

The way it lets light take charge in a photo and outline action in the coolest way…

Ok, I’ll get back to the black and white/color discussion in a minute, but first I should introduce these guys.  You might recognize them from YEARS ago when I took pictures of little N inside her mama’s tummy.  But now they’re headed to Beijing on a family adventure, and we needed to document their tree-climbing ways and their fun here in Massachusetts before they left.

And boy are they tree climbers!

And birdwatchers:

And ticklers:

And joyful, wonderful fun people.  Great to see you guys again.  Have a fantastic adventure overseas!

And without further ado, I show you the reason that I shoot in color and show all the photos to my clients in both b&w and color.  Because once in a while there’s a photo that just HAS to be in color.  It has to be. It just HAS to be.

Spring Public Garden Mini-shoot #4: Boys just want to have fun

Now, this is the kind of post that might embarrass the boys when they’re older, but I have to tell you – I adore shooting these brothers.  I’ve been taking pictures of them for years, and one thing is always evident to me, (being on the outside looking in) and that’s that they’re just really sweet boys at heart. We always get these incredibly loving pictures of the two of them, and it’s not me, it’s them.  It’s wonderful.

They’re awesome, playful, fun – and obviously just really enjoy each other:

And they crack each other up, which is key:

Wonderful to see you guys as always!

Spring Public Garden Mini-shoot #1: When you’re a Jet, you’re a Jet all the way

When these guys showed up for their mini-shoot in the Public Garden last weekend wearing rocker leather jackets, I got so excited. And with the fun lamp posts all around the garden, we had a real West Side Story in the making…

I know I always say it when I blog about this family, but this guy was actually one of my very first shoots back in 2003. He was six months old and they lived in an apartment in Boston (Paula, don’t be mad, I totally forget where in Boston!). He was adorable and perfect back then, and now he seems really big at 8 years old and I can’t believe this is our 9th shoot.  Thanks for including me in the ride, guys.

And not to forget his fabulous, energetic, crazy sister!

Pretty girls in the trees

OK, this is my favorite picture I’ve taken in a while.  LOVE it.

And this one matches one we took of these two girls about four or five years ago, with little sister E in focus in the front and big sister A in the background… I’m all for symmetry.

And even though we can’t see everybody’s faces clearly in this next shot, I just love the mom-ness of this moment.  Girls giggling with their mama.

Killer dance moves.

Loved seeing you guys – thanks for a great shoot as always.  These climbing trees were GORGEOUS for pictures, you were right!
