Jamaica Plain MA Kids & Dog Photographer – just add yoga ball

I’ve been taking photos of this fantastic boy since he was tiny – I think maybe these pictures we took when he was sixteen months old were the first time?

He and his pup Dixie are peas in a pod, absolutely.

These photos are from our session last fall and R’s mama has been perhaps the most patient person in the world waiting for the blog post. The crazy holiday season often means I am focused on getting everyone’s galleries posted and not taking the time to blog as much. But I’m trying to get better about blogging more regularly in 2017 – so I’ll post more soon, I promise!

Look at the fun these guys have together. They give me such joy every time.

And really, what’s better than an October day when the sun is shining and you can take the yoga ball outside and have your mom clock you on the head with it? ;) hehe just kidding. Good times were had by all. No tears were shed. Honest.

As always, I love seeing you guys. Thanks for having me back!

Fall Public Garden Minishoot #19

You know, I take pictures of a lot of teenagers because I’ve been doing what I do for twelve years now, which means tons of the original “babies” of Boston Baby Photos are heading into their teens now. I love seeing all those kids every year as they grow. But you know what else is really fun? Meeting new families who have teenagers! I love the fun of meeting new people, and we can relax and have fun right away with older kids.

That was the case with these guys – their elder daughter is thirteen and their younger is ten, and the most important thing for these guys was making sure we got great photos with their parents.

7401

That we can do! But first we needed to grab a photo of these cute parents.

Fall Public Garden Minishoot #22

A bit of a throwback post here, but we may as well. It’s so cold and snowy out there today it’s nice to think about those warmer fall days. I’ve been photographing these three girls since they were each teenie tiny newborn girlies, and I just adore seeing how they’re growing.

Look who’s one!

I adored getting to see this guy for his third Baby’s First Year photoshoot last week. Can’t believe he’s one. His mamas have just the best time with him, and boy, does he have walking skeels. Also an undying love of avocados. Words don’t do this amazing little person justice. Gonna have to let the pictures tell the story here.

Oh, and Whose Toes Are Those?

Three boys enjoying some leaves

Gotta say I kind of LOVE it when this…

Devolves (or “evolves”?) into this:

Or when this:

Settles into something sweet like this:

See, I just adore these three. Every time I see them, their energy is infectious:

So, even though sometimes they land here:

Fall Public Garden Minishoot #15

These guys ran and zipped and played around the Public Garden for their 20 minute minishoot in October. Just getting a chance to blog it now!

Michelle Wall - January 15, 2014 - 5:45 pm

Thx again Jess! Impressed by how many good pics in such a short time!!

Tricia - January 16, 2014 - 12:20 pm

These are so great!

Another colorful post…

What’s happening here? I’ve been in such a color mood recently, I’m loving the trees and the fall colors. And when my clients are older and able to run around and have fun outdoors, I just love when kids have the space to play and be crazy. Makes for such fun pictures.

So this first picture I have here just MUST be printed large and hung somewhere, Amy – I adore it.  I love the faces, the fun/sillyness, the angle, the light, the colors… it screams “hang me big!” to me.  But I hope you have lots of wall space, because I also think the running one from behind needs to be hung somewhere, and also the feet in the air one…

OK, sorry, I’ll stop. There are a few I like from indoors in b&w, but lots more in color this time. What fun! Thank you so much for showing me the new house – you guys are awesome and I loved seeing you.

Look who’s walking!

Roofdecks are really fun for pictures – and these guys with their apartment on Boylston Street were no exception. I love this first walking big boy picture in color so much, with that gorgeous yellow tree framing the red Copley Square Hotel sign…  Of course I’m also a fan of most of them in b&w — and the one where he’s feeding his puffs to daddy kills me.

What a fun year of shoots! I love that I got to see this guy three times this year. I can’t believe how quickly the time flew by. More information about my Baby’s First Year package is on my website here.

Three having fun in the late afternoon sun

The colors outside make me have to blog in color once in a while this time of year.

(FYI – as always, families get every photo from me in both b&w and in color, but sometimes the late afternoon sun makes the light just warm everything right up and I have to show some color pictures on the blog and on Facebook, even though b&w will always be my one true love.)

So much fun to see you guys again – I can’t quite believe everybody’s getting so OLD (and um, I’m referring to the kids – because those of us who graduated together from Conn College just a few years ago aren’t aging a bit). The KIDS are getting OLD, though, man.

Oh, and I love the attitude on Ms. A. She’s killin’ it.

Public Garden Mini-shoot #6: Run!

And here’s my last peek into blogging for the night – these guys asked for a quickie blog post and we had such fun I had to oblige.  And just for good measure (because the mama in this family and I go way back) I’m fulfilling one of her requests with the jumping photo.  See, when they showed up for their shoot we laughed about how her husband had hacked her Facebook account that morning and had asked her friends chime in by singing his (dad’s) praises. She told me I had to get a bad picture of him and include it so she could use it against him.  Never one to let a challenge go unmet, I’m doing you a solid here, Julie, with the jumping picture.  I think it’s just soooo funny that in this particular moment the only one who’s caught any air is dad.  It just makes me smile.  Josh – don’t hate me! :)

Maybe they’ll keep practicing their game of catch?

I’m peeking my head back into the blogosphere for a few families tonight – I’m blogging only by request this month, and I’m so glad these guys asked for a post.  I LOVE these catch photos – such a perfect little sister position – hands over her eyes (or, who am I kidding – it’s my position too whenever my husband tries to convince me that I know how to catch things – unfortunately, I don’t.  Hope little D isn’t doomed to my fate).

Really fun to see you guys again!

Meron - October 23, 2012 - 12:36 pm

What wonderful pictures and such a gorgeous family!

Nana - October 23, 2012 - 1:13 pm

Looks like Benji is ready for the big leagues!

Kaye - October 23, 2012 - 11:49 pm

What a beautiful family :) I can’t believe how big the kids are!

Mike May - October 24, 2012 - 10:13 am

kids are beautiful and look nothing like their parents :)

Ronni - October 24, 2012 - 11:46 am

All the pictures are great, especially the one of the whole family (love Benji’s protective hand reaching out to Dara). Such joy and happiness on everyone’s face.

Parsa - October 24, 2012 - 3:33 pm

I wish I were that adorable when I was a kid. My parents would have loved me then. Actually, that’s not true they still wouldn’t have loved me. Ok, that’s a joke, except for the adorable kids part. Benji and Dara make all those kids in those baby modeling magazines look like posers. Just saying. I’m currently oooing at the computer screen and my housemates think I’m strange. So I’m going to stop now. Thanks for sharing!

Sueann - October 28, 2012 - 12:39 pm

Adorable children ! Beautiful family! The photographer really captures their spirit!

Reese - October 30, 2012 - 5:03 pm

Cutest kids in Boston! I can’t wait to meet them!! I love the black/white fall photographs.

Family fun time

Kinda love when sister fun time goes from sweetness…

to more sweetness…

to crisis. So real and fun.

And then we got to go to the roofdeck and get some giggling pictures while this cool flock of birds flew overhead.

And now I have a problem – I can’t decide if I love this one of the four of them, or the one at the very bottom of this post.  I guess it’s a good problem to have :)

But just a quick one of little miss S:

And one with mama:

And big sister A with Dad:

Great to see you guys!  Funny thing to notice, but I love that you can see the house address in this one.  Oh, and A looks like she’s having fun on Dad’s shoulders up there :)

Rebecca S. - December 1, 2011 - 6:12 pm

I am loving the hair on this baby, and the big eyes.
