South End – Boston MA Newborn Photographer – four weeks old with her loving pups

Welcome to the world, little B! I got to meet this sweet girl last weekend on the day she turned 4 weeks old. She’s perfect.

First I have to show you this shot – I love when this happens spontaneously! Mama was looking lovingly on in the background and look what we got. Love this.

What a beauty.

I also loved getting to know her big (canine) siblings — they’re settling into this new life as protectors-of-the-babe really well! It’s tough when a new little human arrives. But they’re being super sweet with her.

A smile for Dad!

Trying on a cute hat…

Go Huskies!

It was wonderful to meet you guys!

Courtney - July 9, 2016 - 5:29 pm

Thomas Greeley - July 9, 2016 - 9:36 pm

Such great photos, they came out beautifully! Bailey is too precious

Reading and playing with a wonderful boy

I loved seeing this sweet boy again this year back on an unseasonably warm day in October. He spent some time at the beginning of the photoshoot reading a fabulous bug book aloud to his mom – I’ll admit I learned quite a lot ;)

Wonderful to see you guys, as always!

Naomi, I have known this wonderful boy since before he was born. (More intermittently since I moved away.) But I have loved to see him grow up. These photos are exceptional. They capture a rapport between you two that is undescribable…magical.

Mia Shopis - December 8, 2015 - 8:21 pm

Fantastic photos! Wish we were in JP to see you more.

Diane - December 8, 2015 - 9:18 pm

Though I haven’t seen Naomi in over two decades, her warmth and intelligence is ever present. And I sure do miss our hanging out days. No one deserves this more

Matt - December 8, 2015 - 9:31 pm

I’ve enjoyed seeing pictures of this cute kid grow, but these fantastic photos truly capture the family love that has made him so clearly happy.

Valerie Worthington - December 8, 2015 - 10:19 pm

What a precious pumpkin and a lovely mommy! I’m fortunate to count both of them among my friends, and creating more pictures of them will just make the world a more beautiful place.

Lynn Ryan - December 9, 2015 - 12:26 am

Love and miss you! Ren is so grown up! Beautiful photos.

Anne-Marie Aigner - December 9, 2015 - 7:38 am

Fabulous photos.

nicole holt - December 10, 2015 - 5:51 am

What a sweet and loving series of photos!

A tiny sister joins them

I got to document this tiny girl last week when she was just eight days old. She’s a perfect four pound peanut, and her big sister is so incredibly loving and kind toward her new baby sister.

The girls:

And her big canine brother is extraordinarily gentle with her too – he even let her take a nap right on him.

Snoozy smile:

And not to be outdone – a fabulously fun and amazing big sister:

I adored meeting you guys!

A boy and his pup

I loved getting to see these guys again a couple of weeks ago – big 3 1/2 year old R loves his pup so much.  You guys tell me – is the lead up to the kissing Dixie picture better, or the ACTUALLY kissing Dixie picture? I think I might like them together on a wall, because I love them both and the story they tell together.  But I could be swayed…

Sarah - November 7, 2013 - 10:49 pm

What joy and love in each of these photos!

Claudine - November 7, 2013 - 10:54 pm

Beautiful photos! I love that you get these done every year. What memories you will have!

Seneca Francione - November 7, 2013 - 11:12 pm

Every year I love these shots! I think I like the lead up to the kiss best, but pairing the two could be so cute as well.

Angella Trail - November 7, 2013 - 11:42 pm

Great great photos. I always look forward to seeing them. Awwww, that smile Ren Ren. Makes me smile too.

Jill Yates - November 8, 2013 - 9:21 am

Double ear infection? You would never know! My absolute favorites are the last two but they are all so fabulous. I’m so jealous you have these amazing shots at Ren’s age!
It goes by SO SO fast! ooxox

Richard Downey - November 8, 2013 - 11:57 am

You all look so happy! I like the last two also.(but I’m looking on my phone so…)

One last post for 2012

Now this is one patient mama – she asked for a blog post a month ago and I have been just running to stand still with this crazy season of the year, but I had to get this up for her before I shut down my computer today (on my last working day of 2012! yahooeeee!).  What a fantastic family these guys are. I’ve loved getting to know them over the past couple of years.  And even better? We got grandma this time, too.  Wonderful to see you guys!

Claudine Donikian Blake - December 20, 2012 - 12:13 am

Sarah Barringer - December 20, 2012 - 6:13 am

Super photos Naomi! Ren looks like he loved his time in the spotlight, and he could not be cuter! I love the head shots of just him- growing boy! And you and Ruth look great too. It looks like a really fun photo shoot. xo

Jill Yates - December 20, 2012 - 8:15 am

This is such a fabulous, fun picture Naomi. I can’t believe how big Ren is in his stylish jeans and Dixie just looks so calm with all the craziness! We can’t wait to see you for x-mas! xo

Laurie Hamilton - December 21, 2012 - 5:38 am

Great pics. Everyone looks great!

8 years in… still perfecto

I just looked it up and realized this is my 8th year shooting L&W – I started when L was three and W was one.  Now look at them! L is climbing trees and channeling Katniss (she’s read the whole series three times) and W is sporting the adult teeth (but still able to be scooped up by Dad, luckily).  The one on the swing with both of them peeking through their swinging feet is so cool.

Just adored seeing you guys as always. :)

3 months old and delicious

In my line of work, sometimes it’s fun to give myself little challenges – little things that I keep an eye out for when I’m shooting.  One of those things is the elusive dog lick picture.  I love a good dog-licking-baby picture – and getting the dog’s tongue just the right amount out of his mouth while the baby’s also at that perfect moment where they’re not too annoyed by the attention…

The fun thing here is if you click this “dog licking baby” link and get to a bunch of shoots where I’ve had dogs licking babies (yes, it’ll look at first like it’s not going anywhere, because you’ll see this post again – but scroll down, that link shows all the posts I’ve ever tagged with dog lick), the next post down after this one will be of this same pup: Harry, with his beloved little sister E. Our first shoot was back when she was just three weeks old, and now she’s three months old.

We did these pictures just an hour before her baptism this weekend, and she was just a perfect angel for the photoshoot.

Even with very little sleep the night before, she giggled and played…

And showed us how big she is on her mom’s pretty chaise – much bigger than last time, already!

Reading Christmas books with mama:

Love that she’s peeking at her “1st Christmas” ornament here!

Mama and daughter in their pretty Christening dresses:

She did catch a wink before the big event…

Grandma’s pretty hands with baby E:

With her Godmother and Godfather, in her Christening gown and bonnet that her mom, uncle and grandma all wore…

Big cousin, with her fantastic hairdo and dimple:

And last of all, grandma with her three pretty girls:

Loved seeing all you guys!  Hope the big event was a huge success :)

Kristen Krikorian - December 15, 2011 - 5:28 pm

Love, Love, Love!! These pictures are precious, just like the subjects! Captures everything perfectly! xoxo

Anne Fryar - December 15, 2011 - 10:15 pm

Oh Jill, She is just so precious and to see Harry so loving to her makes my heart melt. Enjoy her!!!! Anne

Kristen Marx - December 16, 2011 - 7:09 pm

Bellissimo sweet little Ellie! xoxo

A boy and his pup

This little 16 month old guy had such fun crawling all over his friend the pup – their relationship was very sibling-esque.

I won’t do too much commentary… but first I have to show you the handsome:

And the extraordinarily super fun: (isn’t this picture actually loud when you look at it?)

Had to give you a beauty shot of the pup too:

Julie - November 1, 2011 - 8:01 pm

Still having a blast

I know, I know, most of my clients are still in diapers, or at least were in diapers a lot more recently than these three – but I love when I get a chance to take pictures of older kids – it’s so much fun.

Because we know this guy’s the boss of the family :)

I love how much fun these guys had together:

Pretty much everything we did – they went all out:

One of the boys, first:

And then the girls:

And we had to get a few action shots of A and his hoop skills. Makes me appreciate sports photographers’ skills!

And I love this of elegant Ms. M.  Who says swingsets are only for little kids?

And a good classic one of the whole crew :)

You guys rock!  Great to meet you.

Stacey Stewart-Afshar - June 16, 2010 - 7:07 pm

These pictures are amazing Sue- what a beautiful family!

Happy first birthday, smiling dude

I had to work hard to make sure that every picture of this little guy wasn’t smiling, because he’s just such a happy guy.  I think this is my favorite shot, though:

Look at these killer eyelashes, too:

And using his walker, a total pro:

Relaxing with the whole gang:

High-five for mom:

Showing off the crawling skills.  I feel like his right hand looks like he’s drumming his fingers here, waiting for something important…

This big boy just turned ONE, so we had to take a picture in front of the mural dad painted:

Actually, this next picture is competing to be my favorite one… I’m going back and forth.

This one cracks me up – belly!

So much fun to spend time with you guys.

These are fantastic! What a little ham!

Two big boys and their fantastic hair

I haven’t seen big boy J since he was his little brother D’s age – and now he’s a big brother, having a fantastic time with his little brother. They were both just balls of energy throughout the photoshoot last weekend – and this is my #1 favorite shot of the two of them. It’s terrible of me, but it just cracks me up how J is hollering as he puts his full body weight on D’s little hand, and D’s expression is just so perfect. Ouch!

My second favorite shot – this just tells the best story:

Gorgeous boy, and for some reason I really adore the lock of mom’s hair that is in the corner of this frame – it shows a really neat sense of movement or something.

D getting a tickle from his mama:

And then I have a favorite serious shot of both of them…

And this one too – love the lips so much:

The boys had this fantastic antique fire truck in the living room for the pictures – really cool:

Group cuddle, with pup included.

So great to see you guys again! Can’t wait to show you the rest of the pictures.
