New Coffeetable Albums

This is exciting, you guys. I’m swapping out my vendor for my photobooks and I think you’re going to really dig these new books. Here’s the photobooks page on the (new! improved!) BBP website with all the information/pricing.

Of course I can always make you one of the old style of books to match the books you’ve been making with me for years, but new stuff is fun so I want you to check these out.

Look how elegant. Linen covered. Imprinted with your title.

Wait, what’s the Annual Plan? (Two shoots within a nine month period, one at home and one as a minishoot on location somewhere. My Annual Plan #2 and #4 come with one of these books included.)

The layouts for the new books are awesome, and they lay flat so I can make photos spread across two pages (yes, this is COOOOOOOOL).

More info about the Annual Plan is here, and all the coffeetable book details are here.

Dedham MA Family of Twins Photographer – Star Wars, and can I get a HEY-OH?

All hail the amazingly creative cousin who’s a whiz with the knitting and crochet needles! Everybody say HEY-O!

All hail the sister and bro-in-law who are just a few WEEKS away from making it to their twins’ first birthday. Everybody say HEY-O!

And all hail a weekend of costumes – because nothing, nothing beats Halloween weekend when you take pictures of children for a living.

So I’m going to have to dedicate this post to a family of Star Wars nuts who are near and dear to my heart. I’ll share some additional costumed cuties on the blog as well, but I’m gonna focus on one team of three cuties who made me smile a lot today. I mean, we’ve got eleven month old E going as Snow Warrior Leia. And her twin brother J? Yup, I think you’re picking up what I’m putting down. He’s going as X-Wing Fighter Pilot Luke. Obvi. I mean, guys, they’re twins. Get it? And we’re talking a three year old big sister who INSISTED on being Darth Vadar. Because that’s how they roll.

And then, once they’d decided on their costumes, in swept the magical cousin who wields her knitting needle (a.k.a. light saber… <– see what I did there?) with incredible skill, and they were off and running.

All this combined meant we got this:jjehalloween_ellieblog

And this:

And this:

Which of course led to this:

But wait! That’s not all!

Because it’s Halloween weekend! I have to show you more. Sometimes on this kind of weekend you just run into a fairy princess:

Or a snow queen:

Or a vampire:

Or Sophia the First:

Or Thomas:

See, it’s just the best weekend. The twins agree. New hats #ftw!

Two under two, and everything’s fine

Big brother M wasn’t yet two, and his new baby brother J was five weeks old when we did these photos about two weeks ago, so they’re proud members of the two under two club! And hate to break it to you, but they sure do seem to have things under control. Either that, or they put on a pretty good show for photos. ;) I think this first one is my favorite, though. I just love mom and dad’s expressions as they look at each other.

Smiles from a boy and his pup

What fun to see these guys again! And gotta love a little Indian summer in late October (this was about 10 days ago when it was 70 degrees out – you know, the usual – late October hose weather…)

I can’t believe it’s that time of year. They are just smashing. Captures the love and spirit of your family. And Dixie is quite the model!

Trains, trains, trains

Fun game! If you see the smallest brother in the photo, you can play a fun little game of find the train :) He was in the mood to hold on to Thomas the Tank Engine during the photos, and why not? He’s holding on tight to him in every single photo.

I adore this of the three of them most of all:

Wonderful to see you guys as always! I feel like we need to update your family retrospective video to include these. Or we’ll just think of these as the first installment in the next video we can make for you guys in a few more years. ;)

This incredible boy

This is always one of my favorite photoshoots of the year. I know I’m not supposed to have favorites, but I’ve been seeing sweet J since he was 15 months old – just months after his heart transplant, and we’ve done one shoot a year since then, so this was his eighth shoot. And what an eight year old! He’s got a ton of energy, still loves the swings, cracks his parents up with his antics, and is doing really well with school. He’s mastered the stairs in his new house, and is just an all-around amazing kid. I always leave with a huge smile on my face after spending time with these guys.

Wonderful to see you and sweet old Rocky as always!

Catching dragonflies and ziplining

I love meeting new families! So often I get to go back and see children grow year after year – but it’s a really fun change of pace to get a chance to jump in and meet a pair of kiddos for the first time when they’re a bit older: already running around catching dragonflies and zooming along on their zipline.

So here, without further ado, is 7 1/2 year old R and 5 year old M with their super-fun parents:

Wonderful to meet you guys!

Two fine young swordsmen

I’ve been taking pictures of these two fine young swordsmen since they were babes in arms (wee newborns, both of them!) and I just adore getting a chance to see how they’re growing and getting more amazing every time.

It was – all swords – all the time – for these guys this visit.

I truly love swords. Really couldn’t be cuter.

The ladies, a few years later

So I first met nearly 10 year old K when she was just a few months old (eek!) and then I came back and met four year old S when she was just a few months old… and a couple of weeks ago I got to come back and blow bubbles and pick blackberries and watch extraordinary Karate demonstrations with these two (much older now) lovely little ladies.

I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again. I adore punctuating childhoods like this. Popping in and out – getting a chance to see what kids are up to, who they are today… it’s the best.

And without further ado, the fabulous K and S.

This one might be my favorite – I love the way S is watching how K does the move…

I also love this one – the blackberry in the middle, everybody focused on what they’re doing…

Wonderful to see you guys again!

The third two year old brother

This is the third time I’ve visited these guys, and we always do it when one of the brothers turns two. What a fun tradition! I love punctuating childhoods like this. What fabulous crew.

Wonderful to see you guys! Hope we can keep up the every-two-years tradition! Easier to have me come back for everybody’s eight year old pictures than to keep adding two year olds to the family ;)

Chris Brown - July 8, 2014 - 2:19 pm

Wow, what fabulous pictures. They really capture the boys and their spirits wonderfully, just like the photographer did with Colin and then, Owen. Great family.

Kerry - July 8, 2014 - 2:23 pm

Jess is amazing with children and these photos are the proof! Thank you for another successful session.

Chrissy - July 8, 2014 - 2:31 pm

Wow, I always love seeing pictures of these boys! And all the pictures I see are wonderful! Looks like it was a fun day with a super fun family!

Christina - July 8, 2014 - 8:49 pm

Amazing pictures again of this beautiful family ;).

Kristen - July 9, 2014 - 6:25 pm

Great pictures of the Brown Boys.

Brian - July 9, 2014 - 6:26 pm

The boys look great.

Cathy - July 9, 2014 - 6:27 pm

The pictures of the boys are wonderful.

A sweet little brother joined the team

I got to meet this little guy in the middle of November, when he was just two weeks old.  His big brothers love him so much – they’re so gentle and sweet with him.

Oh, and this Santa hat just kills me :)

stephanie foster - December 18, 2013 - 8:42 am

Hey little Santa, I swear I’ve been good this year! Awesome pics. Love the leaves. Looks like skipping chores paid off!

Squeezing on that new sister

Because squeezing a nearly six month old sister can’t be beat. And check it out… in two of the pictures you see here, we get one of my favorite things: a surprise belly button sighting. Oh and dimples. Pinch me. Divine.

(Oh, and I had to include a few color ones here, too – because the leaves are just sooooo killer.)

I loved getting time with you guys, thank you for having me!

Grandpa and swiiiinnnnnngs

I spend a lot of time with families that I know really well – and I adore that. I’m so lucky to be invited back to families’ homes year after year, and to watch their kiddos get bigger and taller every year.  So it’s actually a rare fun treat for me to arrive at a new family’s home and get to meet entirely new kids and parents.  And sometimes we get a bonus granddad who’s willing to run around chasing kids in the backyard, too. Because what’s better than that?
