I was thrilled to meet this 3 year old guy last weekend on my 2nd minishoot day of the spring. They were my 3rd session that day, and he came ready to have fun. I love 3 year old energy – he was nonstop. But that means soooo many good pictures in his 20 minute shoot. Super fun – and though we got the posed Bruins shot, where you can see both of the faces, this one cracks me up much more. HUG! Wonderful to meet you guys :)

This guy is moving around like it’s his job. Nine months old, and nothing stops this guy. He’s just perfection, and I loved seeing him again for another shoot from his Baby’s First Year package.
You really can’t beat the daddy squishing face moments, or the super happy reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar with mama. I do love the nibbling Sophie the giraffe one, though, and my very favorite might be the one on the bed as he laughs at both his parents.
Really fun to see you guys again!
It’s so fun for me to know people first as friends and then get a chance to take their pictures – I love that. I’m lucky enough to have met many many people as clients first and then over years and years of watching their babies grow they become friends. But this one is the opposite… friends first, and now yay, getting a chance to photograph them! I’m feeling gushy today, sorry. Maybe it’s editing pictures of one of my daughter’s best friends, and one of my favorite neighbors… When I get a chance to take pictures of kids I’ve hung around with, played with… it’s just such an amazing feeling. I feel like I know the smiles so well, I just adore being able to capture them.
Thanks guys, I’m so glad you did a mini!
For this minishoot shoot we had a lot of fun with this gorgeous group of pink tulips over in the corner of the Public Garden. In color the photos are gorgeous, but there’s also something really incredible about them in b&w – the light for this 1:30pm shoot was bright and intense, and it caught the light colored tulips just right – letting them reflect light up into sweet A and her mama’s faces.
I really just adore mommy/daughter pictures. Happy (early) Mother’s Day!
So much happened in these 20 minutes, I almost don’t know where to begin. So I guess I’ll start at the end. We thought we were just about done when mama brought out the bubble machine thing, which she thought was broken… but big brother B and big sister P managed to get it working again (with just a little 8 yr old and 6 yr old elbow grease and sheer force of will, I think). So THEN they proceeded to have the best time with the bubble gun thing – and we got some of my favorite pictures from their shoot in those last five minutes.
Oh, but I also can’t forget to mention how much I love the picture of the pile the whole family with a minor meltdown happening in the middle of it all. I just love those kind of real pictures :)
By this point in the day it was 10:30am and the sun was continuing to feel fantastic, the little guys were showing off their skills… and these 20 minute photoshoots were flying.
This guy just turned 1! I can’t believe how quickly the year flew by – and I loved punctuating the birthday week with a photoshoot. Look at those walking skills :) I think one of my very faves is the daddy rolling onto his back and playing with G down on the ground – it was so spontaneous and sweet. That and the 2nd walking picture towards the end of the shoot, when G is walking so happily towards mama and daddy’s looking on proudly in the background.
It was such a treat to see you guys with a camera in my hand – thanks for meeting me!
Now these kind of shoots are SOOooo fun for me – when I haven’t seen a little one since they were teenie, and I get to see how big and amazing they’ve gotten. I haven’t seen little L since she was mere days old. And now she’s 20 months old, and just t0-die-for cute.
Am I right?
So wonderful to see you guys again! I can’t believe how quickly the time flew :)
It’s that time of year again! It’s minishoot season, and the first of the two spring minishoots just went off without a hitch. The day on Saturday was out of this world, and it was so much fun seeing all these gorgeous families.
The day started off right with these two… I can’t believe she’s 18 months old already! Just love how active she is and how much hollering she’s doing these days :)
Last May these two fantastic mamas hired me to come take pictures of them for their adoption photo album. These guys are friends of mine, so I’ve waited with bated breath for their baby to arrive. Now, ten months after that photoshoot (and for some reason it felt so much longer than waiting through a pregnancy! just so uncertain and anxiety-ridden) — now, gorgeous, perfect, wonderful, amazing G has joined their family. He was six days old here.
I have a hard time choosing favorite photos, always – but the stretching one with the funny face cracks me up. I also love kitty in the foreground, Charlie in the middle ground and the three humans in the back – there’s so much happening in kitty’s face here. Talk about life changes.
I am beyond excited for you guys, and can’t wait to see him again. Those lips! Delicious boy.
I haven’t seen big brother B since he was three months old, and now he’s 21 months old and a pair of nearly 3 month old brothers have joined his family. I loved spending some time with these gorgeous boys and their mama. The ones that show how little all three of them are are my favorites. All those chubby legs… The mama tickling B one, while the twins peek over at me. All those legs in a row with mama playing. And the not-posed one of mama holding the twins – I love what a sweet quiet moment that is. Oh, and aunt Amy coming in for the last minute tweaks on B’s shirt. Perfecto.
Thanks for making the drive, guys!
You guys know me, I always post too many favorites when I take pictures of twins. I just love them – and these two girls were just too much fun. They were both born tiny, back in mid-November, but came home from the hospital just around the new year. Now they’re three months old and getting bigger every day. And they have two times the cute grins, two times the cuddles with mama and Mimi (namesake!); it’s just the best. And my very favorite? The one where the eyelines (the invisible lines that are created by the direction the people in the picture are looking) are crossing – Mimi looking across and Mama looking across, and the babies meeting the eyes of the person who’s not holding them. I mean, come ON – how fantastic is that? Oh, and then we have the grins – don’t even get me started. The one on one shots are wonderfully sweet too – Mimi holding her namesake and Mama loving on little E. I adored meeting you girls, thank you so much for inviting me.
Wow, that year went quickly! This sweet boy did my Baby’s First Year package, so I’m lucky enough to have seen him a bunch of times this year. Now I still can’t believe those dimples, and how much fun he has being a big one year old boy. The ones with his mama might be my favorites, though :)
When your best friend from growing up has her first baby, you just book a flight. And then you have such a great time visiting with her family and other friends that you totally forget to edit the pictures, and the holidays happen, and then it’s January, and then you’re not eating enough because you’re on a “cleanse”, so your editing seems to take forever… wait, but I digress.
I can’t even explain how much my heart burst when I met this little 4 week old person. I can’t wait to go back for pictures when she’s 6 months old. I adored every minute seeing you guys. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. I included a bunch of my wonderful host’s children at the end of the blog post too – so there’s loads of bloggy goodness if you click around below.
and happy 2013!
