Seven photoshoots in ten years

This is #15 in my series of Family Retrospective Videos – for more information about this project or to sign up to be added to the list of families who wants one, click this link and scroll down the page through the previous posts back to the first or second one (where I describe it in more detail). And I’ll freely admit it – I’m four months late with this one. I promised them this one in April and I’m really posting it in August but I’m back-dating it. Hoping to do a bunch of these videos this August so I can catch up a bit. Thanks so much for your patience, guys!

I met these guys back in June of 2005 when they only had little two year old Mia in their family. I was thrilled to go back a few months later to meet Bella, and I’ve loved visited many times since then to continue to document their fun.

And without further ado, here’s a 5 minute video of Mia and Bella’s family with photos from seven photoshoots over the last ten years:

(Hint: Start playing the video, and then click on the little gear thing that takes you to “Settings” in the bottom right corner of the video. Choose 720p to make the slideshow play in high-definition. You can also choose “Full Screen” down there in that corner of the video too.)

Public Garden Minishoot #8

I met these guys in the Public Garden for a minishoot back in April – this was their eleventh (!!) photoshoot with me in the last ten years. We met back in March of 2005 for their big girl A’s one year old photoshoot. That doesn’t make me feel old or anything, don’t worry.

And I just LOVE seeing families grow. These minishoots are a great way to keep up the rhythm of photos – and guess what, peeps – I have openings in Saturday, May 9th’s minishoot! I never have openings, this is big news – so if you have any interest in grabbing a spot in my last 2015 spring Public Garden Minishoot (my next mini will be in late Sept/early Oct there), check out the open times at this link.

But without further ado, here are these three cuties:

Wonderful to see you guys, as always. Yay for a decade of photos!

Public Garden Spring Minishoot #1

Woo-hoo! We did it, guys, we made it through Boston’s ridiculousness yet again. Well done, peeps. And as a prize for all of us, we got yesterday and Saturday’s weather. Yay!

Saturday was divine in the Public Garden for my first of two minishoot days this spring. (More info about joining me for the May 9th one is at this link.) These guys started me off with a bang for the 9am session. I loved seeing them so much. Had to show you the color shots in the blog today because I need some color in my day, and the sun was just so delicious and bright for us. Not to mention I’m just so excited that we’re back to doing outdoor photos with something other than white in the background.

I’ve been photographing these two since they were mere babes. Taller every year, I tell ya!

Oh baby B, we love you!

Twenty-hmm-hmm years ago the Conn College housing office placed me in a room with this little beauty’s mama, and after a summer phone call and a few snail mail letters to figure out who was bringing the mini-fridge, we were off and running. I’ll skip the details of the last twenty-hmm-hmm years for little B’s benefit, but suffice it to say we’ve had our fair share of adventures. And now you guys are starting a new one!

Welcome to the world, sweet 2 1/2 week old B! I adored meeting you this week and I can’t wait to see you again soon. Look at this little fair-haired love.

She has extraordinarily fun parents – things are only going to get more awesome, kiddo. Just wait. Sleeping through the night? I highly recommend it. You should try it.

Finger toes!

Wait for it… wait for it… and YES! Doesn’t this expression just kill you? And the dimple? Come on now.

They’re already having a blast with this little lady.

I love this one. Neck wrinkles. Yum.

Ms. B needed her sponge bath – she didn’t mind it a bit. Dad’s a pro.

But really the bath was all about getting a photo in the elephant towel. Because — elephant towel.

Those eyes :)

I’ve developed an unhealthy obsession with this photo of B’s back-of-the-head hair. That spot is just so delicious!

And one more to make you smile. You’re perfect and amazing, sweet B. I adored meeting you.

These are so great, Jess! I can’t get over the “frog face” one. I want to stare at it all day long.

Great photos! And she is so new in these first photos!

Nursery School photo day amazingness

It’s that time of year! This was my 7th annual school photo day at the fabulous Ashmont Nursery School, and it was divine, as always. Of course, the truth is that it’s now June 1st and I’m finally just taking the time to blog this session (which we shot back in early April), but that fits right into the weird schedule we had this year… would you believe we started out planning to do this photoshoot on January 27th? And it took until the first week of April before the snow melted enough for me to park for the day close enough to ANS to do the school photo day? Of course you believe it. We all lived through this insane winter.

But I digress. I should get back to the cuteness that we had at ANS for their school photo day. And before I get into it, I should link over to the page of information about having me come do this at any Nursery School in the greater Boston area – don’t hesitate to reach out if you want me to come do this at your school. I usually do them in January-March, and would love to add more schools into my calendar. It’s free to the school to have me come do it, and parents only pay if they like the photos. Here’s all the information.

Bring on the siblings! That’s the best part :)

And then sometimes there’s one or two kiddos who were sick on picture day. So of course I want to come back to grab a few shots of those kiddos and THEIR siblings… but this year I couldn’t bear to lug the backdrop and the lights back to school a second day… so no backdrops for these ones :)

Wonderful to see you all and spend the day with you! Thanks so much for having me :)
