Seventeen photoshoots in eight years

This is #9 in my series of Family Retrospective Videos – for more information about this project or to sign up to be added to the list of families who wants one, click this link and scroll down the page through the previous posts back to the first or second one (where I describe it in more detail).

What fun it’s been watching these two grow from teenie babies into fun, adventurous children. Our first photoshoot was in 2006, and I’ve been able to go back and see them a couple of times each year since then.

And without further ado, here’s a 5 1/2 minute video of Grayson and Helena’s family with photos from seventeen photoshoots over the last eight years:

(Hint: Start playing the video, and then click on the little gear thing that takes you to “Settings” in the bottom right corner of the video. Choose 720p to make the slideshow play in high-definition. You can also choose “Full Screen” down there in that corner of the video too.)

Trains, trains, trains

Fun game! If you see the smallest brother in the photo, you can play a fun little game of find the train :) He was in the mood to hold on to Thomas the Tank Engine during the photos, and why not? He’s holding on tight to him in every single photo.

I adore this of the three of them most of all:

Wonderful to see you guys as always! I feel like we need to update your family retrospective video to include these. Or we’ll just think of these as the first installment in the next video we can make for you guys in a few more years. ;)

Two strong, fun, incredible girls

Look at these sweet girls! They’re five months old now, and they’re doing so well. They were born teenie tiny preemies, and they’ve spent these last five months being fabulous, getting stronger and grinning.

It’s always my little challenge to myself when I photograph twins to see if I can learn which twin is which during the hour I spend with a family, and then really get those names/faces into my head so that a couple of weeks later when I’m deep into editing their photos, those names look like those faces. OK, be honest… you have to tell me, did I remember right?

On the left we have Ms. J and on the right it’s V… how’d I do?

And then they’ve switched places in this one, V on the left and J on the right…

You got me on this one ;)

Ms. J…

Ms. V…

And then V enjoying her mobile:

And Daddy giving J her end-of-photoshoot bottle:

It was just wonderful to meet you! Thanks so much for having me.

This incredible boy

This is always one of my favorite photoshoots of the year. I know I’m not supposed to have favorites, but I’ve been seeing sweet J since he was 15 months old – just months after his heart transplant, and we’ve done one shoot a year since then, so this was his eighth shoot. And what an eight year old! He’s got a ton of energy, still loves the swings, cracks his parents up with his antics, and is doing really well with school. He’s mastered the stairs in his new house, and is just an all-around amazing kid. I always leave with a huge smile on my face after spending time with these guys.

Wonderful to see you and sweet old Rocky as always!
