He’s just two, and when we took these in November, she was just two weeks! I am so in love with the “interested in the tootsies” picture – those tiny piggies being investigated by big brother kill me :)
It was wonderful to see you guys, I’ll let the pictures do the talking.
Minted is offering 15-20% off holiday cards – one deal ends today, Sunday the 25th at midnight, and then there’s another deal going on tomorrow for Cyber Monday.
Visit my Minted storefront and copy/paste the URL at the bottom of my description to get all current the Minted coupon codes :)
These three have such fun together – I’ve been photographing them since they were babies, and it’s always the same. Fun, energy and lots of squeezes.
Now you know I love my families with two under two – I talk about them all the time. I just think it’s a big deal having two children under two years old – lots of work, lots of fun. But these guys have them beat. Three children, and big sister Z (to one month old twins E and E) isn’t even going to be two until 2013.
I love me some twins – you know that about me too, I’m sure. And all in all, I’m just enjoying the story these photos tell. My favorite one is this first one of the one of the girls (little and big) looking at each other, with their brother E doing a little stretch next to them. I also love all the expressions on the crazy one where Z is sitting with the twins in the chair, and she gets the giggles… and you know me and toes pictures. Have to do it ;) Love when something like Z reaching for the toes happens… And last favorite is the twins crying together. So indignant!
I love when I get to meet a new family at this time of year! Probably 85-90% of my shoots are with returning families (which is so wonderful and fun because I get to see children grow) but I also love that I get to add new families into the mix all the time. This time of year seems busier with returning families (maybe just because of the quantity of shoots? not sure why it feels that way…) but at any rate, it’s fun to get to know somebody new.
This is little 3 month old R – a sweet, smiley boy who spent some time being handsome for me last Sunday with his mama. The one of him looking up at his mama from the changing table is one of my new favorite shots, and the one where he’s hiding his face with his hand, but peeking through? Just love it. Also loving the mirror one, where he’s cracking himself up :)
I haven’t seen this pretty girl in YEARS; now she’s 10 and a half, and just super fun. I love the shot we got of mom and dad together, too :) And her cousin popped by at the end of the pictures, so we got to get some fun cousin shots, too.
Wonderful to see you guys again.
Oh boy, these guys are nearly six months old and just perfection. There’s one blue-eyed boy and one brown-eyed boy, and both of them have an incredible twinkle in those eyes. I think maybe they can’t wait to get moving…
I think my number one favorite picture the one where they’re lying on their backs, looking at each other. That and the one of their mama leaning over them, touching their bellies…So sweet. I’m also really loving the one where mama’s kissing T’s cheek. Oh and I just peeked back at the one of them in their dress shirts, all crunched up next to each other, showing off their knuckle dimples.
Thanks so much for having me, I loved meeting the boys!
So I had to show you these ones in color, too. See my last post for waaaayyyyy too much information about my thoughts about color, b&w, etc. :)
These guys just bought a new house this summer – congratulations! This meant they had a big beautiful yard full of leaves, perfect for throwing. The shot with the leaves flying and mom and dad both smiling at H just gives me chills. Adore it. That and the one where the long piece of grass came into the side of the frame and caught the camera’s focus, so mom and H went into the background a bit, as she tickled him like crazy? Perfect. And don’t even get me started on the ones where they’re lying in the leaves – H looking up at Dad with the best smile ever, and then when they all three agreeably lay down in the leaf pile, nice clothes and all – but smiling and just giving off this glowy, happy family vibe, all over the place? Awesome. Thanks for a fantastic shoot, guys. Congrats again on the new house :)
Those of you who know my work know that I’m a black & white kinda gal. I love stripping color out of a moment, letting light, and expressions, and emotion tell the story. I know we all love to see the pink in our children’s cheeks and the color of those eyes… but when a picture is in color, I find that our first inclination is to experience the color. After we soak in the color, we are able to start seeing the kids, the story, the fun…
But, everybody’s allowed to change it up, right? Once in a while the day outside (when I’m blogging) is too gloomy, too wet, too gray. I’m having one of those days, and the two blog posts I’m going to do this morning are going to perk me right up. And I trust that all you guys will be able to look beyond the (INCREDIBLE) color in these photos and see the joy – the very essence of boy-ness – that bursts out of these two cutie pies. This post also gives some nice examples of the difference between an in home session (this one was an in-home session) and a mini-session. I know I blog a lot of mini-sessions in the Public Garden each year, but the majority of my work is still in families’ homes. With minis we don’t have as much time to get the variety of photos that you see here.
All that color/b&w talk aside, just to be clear – I do always provide all the photos from every session in both b&w and color. I tend to adore the b&w indoor shots (especially when it’s babies we’re looking at) but I do appreciate the color outdoor shots (especially when children are old enough to walk and play outdoors).
So, enough yapping. I adored seeing these guys again – the last time was when C was still in his mama’s belly. And the tree in their yard? Gorgeous-o yellow with mama’s pops of red in the clothes. Good on ya.
