10 weeks old and rolls galore

Perhaps the best yawn picture EVER.

And maybe the best hand/wrist/mid-arm etc. rolls too.  Delish.

Now I normally have an aversion to upside-down pictures of babies lying down for some reason.  I think they can be confusing to look at, as a viewer, but this one makes me smile so much I had to include it.  Come on now, isn’t he incredible?

Again, breaking my upside-down rule.  But loving this one too.  (I guess J’s not officially upside-down here, but the way his parents are looking at him is upside-down, and I sometimes find this doesn’t work, but this one totally does.)

Love the wall decor :)

Mama’s hilarious.

So fun to meet you guys, thanks for having me out!

Isn’t my nephew yummy??!!!!

Fabulous photos- thanks for these! We will cherish them for years to come :)

John Klemeyer - October 31, 2011 - 7:05 pm

I know he looks just like his Grandpa. He will have to live with that. I was cute then too but not this cute. Great pics.
Grandpa John

My girls for Halloween

In a few hours I’ll be back to your regularly scheduled programming – cute clients all the time – but this morning I took a few minutes with my own little halloween goblins outside (in the SNOW).  In past years I’ve invited the whole neighborhood over, but with the weather the way it was this weekend, it was too hard to organize the timing of that, so I just forced my own children to don their costumes one day early and get wet and cold for a few minutes.  C’mon guys, it’s for ART!!  For posterity!  You’ll thank me later… right? Right??

Eventually they warmed up a bit and showed off the Wonder Woman-i-tude:

And the Kitty style: (But don’t ask how many bribes I had to go through to get her into this cat costume.  I kid you not – 30 minutes of begging, lollipops, everything.  She is sooooo two.)

Brrrrr is it time to go inside yet??

sara sun - October 30, 2011 - 2:32 pm

Aww LOVE these!!! They are totally rocking them! Love the Wonder woman costume. I used to have wonder woman underoos…oh man I loved them so :-) Have fun tomorrow.

New brudda, with stinky feet

E checked out her new brother B’s toes, and confirmed – p.u.! Or maybe not, but at least it made her giggle.  E is just 25 months older than her now one month old brother – so they narrowly missed membership in my exclusive two under two club – but I think maybe we can grant them honorary membership for a bit.

Especially when hangout time with the two of them includes moments like this:

And a few of just the little dude:

He looks SOOO much like his sister in this next one:

Loved seeing you guys! xo

These children have so much life and love in their eyes. You’ve just made my Monday morning by sharing these beautiful photographs with me…..these images capture their spirit and love perfectly! JJ, you look hot!

Stacy Taylor - October 31, 2011 - 10:44 pm

Beautiful pictures of a beautiful family. Love love love. Thank you for sharing.

Pat & Greg Godbout - November 1, 2011 - 4:55 pm

Dear Jen and Peter, Thanks for sharing your photos. Your camera artist did a great job once again. The children are just beautiful. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. God bless you all. Love, Patty & Uncle Greg

Jim Johnson - November 2, 2011 - 3:47 pm

Jen and Peter: We were thrilled to see the photos of Emma and Benjamin. Your friend Jess is an excellent photographer. She caught the beauty of the children in their natural environment. I feel like I visited your home even though I’m 1,500 miles away. Love to you and Peter and your family. Great Uncle Jim

Heather Norton - November 3, 2011 - 2:01 pm

Love these pics! I always love checking out your site and seeing some familiar faces :) JJ, you look great – and your little ones are absolutely adorable. Nice job, Jess! :)

Amanda - November 7, 2011 - 9:26 pm

After having no power in CT for 10 days, it was a treat to see such adorable photos while digging through emails. E and B are beautiful children and lucky to have each other and their wonderful mom and dad! Jess, you capture great memories!

Four fantastic cuties

I have to start with these two pictures that just tell the story of having four fantastic kids so well.  Love the joy in this one:

Love the comfort (and craziness) obvious in this one :)

In the spirit of the upcoming holiday, thought big J’s best individual shot included this awesome ghoul:

It was wonderful seeing you guys, thanks so much!

Six, four and one, and HAPPY

I’m going to let these adorable three speak for themselves :)

(Oh wait, but one quick story – love the urgency on biggest sister K’s face here – she’s telling us that her brother’s falling off the swing.  We all thought it was hilarious, and the big girls kept telling us he really was falling.  Mom grabbed him, eventually, but I just love this stressful but awesome moment.)

Love pup catching some air in the background here:

Loved seeing you guys!

Brothers, eight years apart

Big brother W is eight and a half, and his new perfect brother N was only seven weeks old when we took these photos a few weeks ago.  This means these guys are already fast friends, with little N already kicking W in the face with those strong little legs…

Killer dimples on big W:

He’s enjoying himself a ton with these guys:

Loving his mama:

Had a moment waiting while people put shoes on to go outside, and this guy seemed like he needed a new headshot:

I’m so honored you guys had me come out to celebrate N’s arrival, thank you.

As W tickles N’s foot with his hand in a cast… the expressions in this one just tell such a sweet story.

And lastly – I love Mom’s hand on W’s head here:

Two handsome, energetic little dudes

OK, before I show you all the adorable pictures of these two guys, I had to start with the most awesome mom shot. If this doesn’t tell the story of a mom of two boys under three, I don’t know what does :)

Now back to these two handsome boys:

Grandpa stopped by so we could make sure we got a three generations shot:

And my dad made the connection with this family for me, so I had to post this one in his honor.  I know he wishes his granddaughters took the same interest in golf as this little guy.

Wonderful to meet you guys!

Deb Murphy - November 14, 2011 - 1:49 pm

You really connected with the kids. Thank you for capturing so very special moments! We had a blast.

Lantern Walk 2011

I had such grand visions of tonight’s elementary school candlelit “Lantern Walk” around our local pond, from a photographer’s perspective.  Turns out it was pitch black and I didn’t have any luck taking pictures on the walk around the pond.

Annie, on the other hand, got to walk home afterwards hand-in-hand with my sister (the person she thinks hung the moon).  So it was a success, after all.

Lauren - October 23, 2011 - 7:21 pm

Lovely photo!

The ladies pick some apples

Met up at an apple orchard with these two beauties – and although color versions of these late-in-the-day shots are sweet, I’m loving their b&w counterparts…

Mama pulled her girl…

And then J got to do some work pulling…

But for some reason this one screams color to me.

Adored spending the afternoon with you guys, thank you!  Great idea.

Fall Public Garden Mini-shoot #12

The final shoot of the 12 family mini-shoot day was a pair of twins I hadn’t seen since they were newborn sweeties, and now they’re big one year olds.  Perfect one year olds.

The light was streaming through the trees, all was right with the world :)

Except when K was told she was not allowed to eat leaves.  She did not like that rule.

But she got over it :)

Love how K won’t stand here, and she’s cracking her mama up.  T is completely calm, showing his skills :)

Another Wheee!

And the ladies too…

Mama and her two.  Wonderful to see you guys!

Seo Young - October 20, 2011 - 4:58 pm

Very nicely done, Jess !! Love the pictures.

Fall Public Garden Mini-shoot #11

The thing is – these guys are just fun.  Just FUN. I missed them – it’s been years and I haven’t had a chance to take their picture since their boys were teenie, and that’s just one of the things I love about these mini-shoot days. I get a chance to touch base with people I haven’t seen in a while, and I love it.

I mean, come on – aren’t you jealous that I got to hang out with them?

Best part of this next one?  I totally didn’t set mom and dad up in the background.  They just sat like that on their own.

Both guys rocked their catching the ball photos:

So fun to see you guys.  Thanks Julie, for making it happen!!

Fall Public Garden Mini-shoot #10

I have one word for these two ladies.  OK, two:

My. Muses.

I haven’t seen them since they were nine months old, and I almost didn’t recognize them when I met up with them on the mini-shoot day.  This one is my hands-down favorite.

Every moment of their session made me so happy.  I loved meeting their grandparents…

The striped socks.

Their slightly mussed hair.

Their eyelashes.

Their expressions.

How very different (and yet similar) they are…

And the way they grasped hands when they got together for pictures. It just gave me chills.

Loved loved LOVED seeing you guys. So glad we got you a spot!

Holy Schnikes – these are absurd! The lighting in the weeping willow shot captures something heavenly. They are angels taboot!

Nancita - October 20, 2011 - 1:02 pm

Love these pics! I especially like how they are twins but that these images capture their distinct individual personalities. Nice work!

So wonderful to see the girls captured by such a wonderful photographer – I can’t believe how incredible they look!

Adele Beekman - October 20, 2011 - 1:25 pm

They look so cute! I bet they’d look even cuter in matching Halloween costumes like two peas in a pod or a loving set of parents who let them play spider ring toss at the office party.

Christina Lip - October 20, 2011 - 1:44 pm

Wow! look at these two photogentic stars! How adorable! I just love all these photos. Especially the last one, where they are hand in hand, that just makes my heart melt.

OH. MY. GOD. a) I refuse to believe they are this big now – nice try b) They were obviously created in a Beautiful Creatures labratory of some sort – they are too pretty to be human. But seriously – amazing photos, very special!

Ann Adelsberger - October 20, 2011 - 2:15 pm

They are gorgeous! Photos amazing..

Colleen Ward - October 20, 2011 - 3:02 pm

What beautiful little hams they are for the camera! Great shots…My favorite is the one with Stella’s hand on Bea’s knee. Can’t wait to see them in person soon! xoxo

Cheri - October 20, 2011 - 4:00 pm

Hmmmm, it is amazing what a good photographer can do to mask the chaos that lurks within. Oh wait, I’m talking about my child, who remains unphotographed. Do the photos help with the masking? If so, sign us up!
